Working with Infrastructure Ontario

Infrastructure Ontario is working with Women’s College Hospital to develop the new state-of-the-art facility as part of the Government of Ontario’s commitment to infrastructure renewal.

Infrastructure Ontario is a Crown corporation dedicated to managing some of the province’s larger and more complex infrastructure renewal projects — ensuring they are built on time and on budget — and to supporting infrastructure investment across the broader public sector.

All infrastructure projects are guided by the five principles set out in the government’s Building a Better Tomorrow framework:

Using an alternative financing and procurement (AFP) model that ensures appropriate public control and ownership, Infrastructure Ontario uses the best of public- and private-sector expertise, ingenuity and rigour to strategically expand and renew public assets.

Since its establishment in 2005, Infrastructure Ontario has brought over 30 projects to market, amounting to more than $15 billion in capital, and constructed more than 6.5 million square feet of new health-care infrastructure.

Women’s College Hospital redevelopment project will proceed under Infrastructure Ontario’s Design Build Finance Maintain (DBFM) model, whereby risks associated with the hospital’s design, construction, financing and maintenance are transferred to the private sector.
